My Life in Post It Notes

After numerous attempts at journalling and the like. I've decided to try this, and include random thoughts and feelings that are going on in my head.

You know when they always told you to write on a post it notes and stick it to the board at school? So you'd have a board full of 30 kids answers to a question/thought/feeling etc. That kind of thing. I think.

Sometimes I feel like I am the only person in the world that thinks stuff like this shouldn’t be news. This is exactly I’ve been saying for the past year as I’ve been building up my education philosophy. If as much emphasis was put on communication subjects like drama, as it is for Maths and English, then there wouldn’t be these problems. My own experience of school reveals a distinct lack of any kind of organised public performance/speaking/interview/communication, this is something I will address in my own career.

Fourth-graders earn "paychecks," learn to handle money

revolutionizeed:

Elizabeth Haberberger’s fourth-grade students at Henderson Elementary School in St. Charles, Mo., earn weekly “paychecks” for jobs in the classroom, choose how to spend or bank their salaries. They soon will have the opportunity to put their savings to work at an end-of-year class auction, Haberberger said.

This teacher put a lot of time into making her classroom reflect the real world and a functioning economy!  Great lesson for kids of any age!
